Green and White Teas are high in antioxidants and other vital properties. They have endured as one of the most revered and consumed beverages for thousands of years. Chinese legend dates green tea back to 2737 BC, when emperor Shen Nong was boiling water next to and open window, and the tea leaves blew through the window and into the pot. He drank the concoction, and enjoyed it so much that tea became a favorite beverage in China. Aside from drinking tea for pleasure, the Chinese have also used it as an indispensable medicinal tool and have treated a host of maladies and illnesses through its continued use. Green tea is now consumed around the world, and because of its anti-oxidant value it is currently being studied for numerous health benefits, and as a treatment for a number of illnesses. Here you will find a nice offering of the world’s finest imported tea which is guaranteed to provide you with an unrivaled sipping experience!

Red Tea Red teas which include Rooibos and Honeybush have become very popular healing beverages embraced and enjoyed by millions. Numerous published studies have found them be extremely nourishing, nutritious and caffeine free which makes them suitable for most ages and throughout any part of the day. The unique fermentation process of red tea produces a rich amber-red color when brewed that has a smooth after-taste and lacks the astringent tannins usually found in green and black tea. A gentle and effective tea full of anti-oxidants, Vitamin C, Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium, Iron, Zinc, Sodium, Copper, and Manganese.

Black Tea is an enduring and revered classic throughout the world. Because of the fermentation process, black tea is usually richer in color, more penetrating in flavor, and has a higher concentration of caffeine when compared to other teas. A universal beverage that speaks many languages, Black tea has its beginnings from the same plant which produces both green and white tea Camelilia sinensis, and its mark of distinction can be found in the deep dark color achieved through the fermenting process. For those who prefer milder flavors, you can add a dash of honey, cream, or soymilk for a truly delightful cup of tea.

Flowering Tea is captivating and engaging; flowering teas transform the simple act of drinking tea by producing an aesthetically rich experience full of color and vibrancy and wonder...

Hand-sewn flowering teas are produced in remote tea gardens in southwestern Yunnan province in China near the borders of Laos and Vietnam. White, green and black teas are picked in the early mornings. While damp, the tea leaves are flattened and sewn with cotton thread into the various shapes and bundles. (Tea leaves may also be scented with jasmine blossoms before sewing begins for a more floral flavor.) Some shapes take about one minute to sew while other more elaborate designs may take up to 10 minutes. While still moist, the leaves are shaped into balls, mushrooms, cones, etc, and finally, the teas go through the usual drying, oxidation and firing process which closes the process and provides the finished product. Our line of flowering teas come beautifully packaged in a recycled content canister, making them ideal and convenient gifts.

Flowering Teas
*When a flowering tea lists as 'Temporarily Out of Stock,' we encourage you to check back soon for availability.*

Steeping Instructions: Place one Flowering Tea in a teapot (a clear glass teapot is recommended so you may watch it unfurl). Bring water to a low boil and pour over tea. The tea leaves will unfurl and the tea flower will slowly open. Allow to steep 2-3 minutes, or to desired strength.
After enjoying the first pot, a Flowering Tea may be re-steeped 2-3 more times. The tea you make should be decanted into teacups within a short period of time so that leaves do not remain in hot water, which would adversely affect the fine taste of this tea. Please note that above estimations are based upon a teapot which holds 18-20 ounces.
